How to Be Wealthier In Retirement

A recent nationwide survey asked people whether they would rather lose 15 pounds or see their investment rise by 15 percent in 2015.  Most people opted for a rise in their investment portfolio.  As a chiropractor for the past 16 years, the result of this survey does not surprise me.  I have seen many patients opt to ignore their health because of many reasons, but the main one is usually a financial reason.

Many people may not be aware of a recent Cleveland State University study that found men who exercised regularly (three or more times a week) had about 6 percent more earning power than men who didn't.  For women, the gap is even higher.   Although the reason for the earning gap is not clearly known, it would not be wrong to guess that those who takes care of themselves may have better overall productivity.  Who would have thought that being healthier can make you richer?!

Many chiropractors continue to serve patients even past retirement age.  Why?  For many chiropractors, the mission is to help our community to change the paradigm of their health care.  That an ounce of prevention is worth so much more.  Perhaps, with healthier habits, we can also envision a better future not only for ourselves but also for our children.
